This Is Why We May Not See a Coronavirus Vaccine for 12-18 Months

While many states across the country begin to reopen, health leaders say the novel coronavirus will remain a threat until a vaccine is widely available.

Thursday, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company Moderna received emergency Phase II approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration for its coronavirus vaccine candidate. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the U.S. government's top expert, said the vaccine candidate showed "impressive" results in an interview with National Geographic.
